2020-21 Program Update

Dear Out In Front Community, 

We’d like to provide you with an update for this coming year: 

In light of the COVID-19 situation the board has chosen to suspend our programming for the coming year and not have a cohort during the 2020-21 program year. We are excited to use this time to focus on making Out In Front more sustainable, as well as re-focusing our curriculum to more effectively center the experiences and expertise of LGBTQ people of color. 

Running a cohort-centered training program using almost entirely volunteer labor is a model with significant weaknesses, and the board is looking to strengthen this foundation. The goal is to build our volunteer or support base so that we can continue to train emerging leaders in a way that is sustainable for the longer term. For the program to come back after this year off will require an influx of resources and ideas focused on making the Out In Front program relevant and supported for the coming decade. 

We’d love to connect with you through this process. There will be information coming out shortly on ways you can support this work to bring back OIF in its reimagined form in 2021-22.
